Moroccan Pottery, Moroccan Ceramics, Moroccan Vases Thank you for visiting our Moroccan pottery and furniture store
Moroccan pottery is an old tradition that uses different techniques in different regions in the country. The duality between the Berber inheritance on one hand and the Hispano-Moorish influence on the other hand meet again in the techniques used in motifs and settings that decorate clay pieces. To Morocco, this secular tradition rose to the row of an art rarely equaled. One distinguishes three major categories: urban pottery mostly made in Fez, Safi and Sale and the two rural potteries of the north and south, both utilitarian ones. The former widely crafted by women, and the latter by men. The three principal production hubs of Moroccan pottery, Moroccan ceramics and Moroccan vases are Fes, Safi and Sale. |
