Avoid Harsh Chemicals on Moroccan Lamps

You should always be very careful when cleaning Moroccan lamps. While you might have a beautiful finish on a lamp that you want to easily preserve, you have to clearly keep the finish treated the right way if you want it to last a lifetime. This means that you must avoid using any harsh chemicals on a lamp. While rubbing alcohol might be a useful material to apply onto your lamp while cleaning it off, that should be as far as you go when using chemicals to clean it off. You have to particularly avoid the use of heavy materials like ammonia or bleach to clean off the lamp. These may potentially strip off the paint on your lamp or even cause its natural colors to warp. This is a huge problem that can adjust the lamp in a negative way and keep it from looking as attractive as it should be.

You also have to avoid anything that features an excessive amount of acid in it. Acids are known to eat away at layers of all kinds of metals. These include some traditional bronze materials used in Moroccan lamps. Acids can also be harmful to other surfaces where your lamp might be in. This is provided that some of these acids spill onto a surface. You’ll have to not only avoid using acidic chemicals but also make sure that you add safer items to your lamp while also protecting the surfaces where your cleaning job is taking place in.
