White Gold is in Moroccan Lanterns

White gold is more than just a special type of gold surface that can be used on lanterns. It is also a form of gold that might last longer and will be less likely to wear out or scratch. White gold is a type of gold that uses about seventy to ninety percent gold and ten to thirty percent white metals. White metals are used to give the gold the white color that this combination gets its name from. Most Moroccan lanterns that feature white gold in them are made with a combination of gold and nickel. Palladium is often added to give it a silver-like appearance. Also, copper may be used alongside the two main metals to make the lantern a little easier to craft into different shapes.

While white gold is a great material to use on many lanterns, you should be aware of how these lanterns may be adjusted with a series of coatings to make them a little more appealing. Rhodium is often used on a lantern to create a special coat that gives you a shinier design. Moroccan lanterns use rhodium coatings to also keep the physical body of the white gold under control. An interesting part of rhodium is that it has a white appearance just like what you’d expect to see out of straightforward white gold on Moroccan lanterns. However, the rhodium coating is just made to accentuate the appearance of the lantern and to keep the white gold from being at risk of damages.
